CAPE CORAL, Fla.– A child was hit by a car at the intersection of Trafalgar and Southwest 20th Avenue on Tuesday afternoon.
An 8-year old girl was riding her bike in the crosswalk when she was hit by a car. Her father tells us she’s shaken up and has a possible broken ankle, but is going to be okay.

We spoke to the driver of a dark-colored mustang, who admitted to hitting the girl.
He said he received two citations. The first citation was for failing to stop at the crosswalk, the other was for driving on a suspended license plate.
His license was suspended due to a lapse in insurance, according to officials.
The driver said he was only doing 15mph, but he accidentally hit the girl because it was too late to stop by the time he saw her.
A crossing guard at the scene of the crash said this is a bad intersection for pedestrians crossing.
